Apprentice Management Accountant (AAT)

We are recruiting for an Apprentice Management Accountant to join our Finance team based at our Head Office in Castle Donington. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start their career in accounting while gaining hands-on experience and studying towards a recognised qualification. 

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support day-to-day finance operations, assist with management accounting activities, and develop a strong foundation in financial processes, systems, and reporting. Full training and support will be provided. 

As part of this apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto an AAT Level 3 qualification. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts 

  • Support bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance 

  • Help prepare accruals, prepayments, and basic journal entries 

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation 

  • Assist in budget monitoring and cost tracking 

  • Support credit control and accounts payable activities 

  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as required 

  • Participate in ongoing training and coursework related to the AAT Level 3 qualification 

 

What are we looking for? 

We are looking for someone who has a passion and interest in pursuing a career in finance and accounting. It would be great if you have: 

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) 

  • A-levels or equivalent (desirable but not essential) 

  • An interest in finance and accounting 

  • Commitment to studying towards the AAT Level 3 qualification 

  • Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel 

  • Good numerical and analytical skills 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Good organisational and time management abilities 

  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal 

  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
