Mediq is looking for a commercially focussed Finance Business Partner, embedded within Operations and Supply Chain, with a core mandate to drive martin improvement, supplier efficiencies and cost transparency.

The role will initially focus on supplier performance, operational efficiencies, driving value creation and variable costing models, before expanding to support and enhance the wider FP&A capability, including the development of tools such as Power BI and Excel-based reporting and dashboards.

Salary £50,000 - £55,000

Key Responsibilities:

 

Operational & Supplier Business Partnering

 

  • Act as the primary finance partner to Operations and Supply Chain teams
  • Analyse supplier performance, pricing structures and cost drivers to identify margin improvement opportunities
  • Support supplier negotiations through robust financial modelling and insight
  • Develop and maintain variable costing models, including volume, mix and inflation impacts
  • Identify and track operational efficiency initiatives and cost-saving opportunities
  • Translate complex financial analysis into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders

 

Margin & Value Creation

 

  • Lead financial analysis to support margin improvement initiatives across the business
  • Build business cases for operational change, investment and efficiency programmes
  • Track delivery of benefits against plans and hold stakeholders to account for outcomes
  • Support pricing, cost-to-serve and profitability analysis

 

FP&A & Reporting Enhancement

 

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the FP&A function
  • Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and advanced Excel reporting to improve visibility and decision-making
  • Support forecasting, budgeting and rolling outlook processes where required
  • Improve the quality, speed and relevance of management information
  • Drive consistency and automation within reporting processes

 

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have worked within distribution / logistics sector and have knowledge of supply chain functions.  

 

  • Proven track record working in a Business Partnering or FP&A role supporting wider business operations. Distribution experience desirable.
  • Expertise in strategy execution, competitive analysis, and pricing.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex data, support strategic decision-making, and optimise financial performance.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable business impact and driving proactive collaboration.
  • Comfortable with providing strong challenge whilst maintaining stakeholder relationships.
