Graduate Management Accountant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Management Accountant to join our finance team in Castle Donington. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong academic background in finance, accounting, mathematics, or a related discipline to develop practical experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and business analysis.
Salary - £28,000
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes across departments
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with financial reporting and performance tracking against KPIs
- Support audit processes by providing required documentation and explanations
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual with a recent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. It would be great if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
- Strong academic record demonstrating analytical and numerical ability
- Placement year or internship experience in finance (desirable but not essential)
- Working towards or willingness to pursue a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Good understanding of financial principles and accounting concepts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Strong work ethic and integrity
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach
