With central category expertise and strong local sourcing teams, we are now strengthening our capability through the appointment of a Procurement Director to join our UK senior leadership team.
The Procurement Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sourcing at Mediq. The individual will lead the sourcing agenda for their region, ensuring flawless execution of strategic sourcing initiatives, realisation of savings, and strong cross‑functional collaboration. This is a key leadership role within the global sourcing organisation and an opportunity to bring best‑in‑class practices to a fast‑growing international healthcare business.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Lead and inspire a team of high‑performing strategic sourcing managers
- Ensure seamless collaboration between cluster, country, and global sourcing functions
- Provide coaching, direction, and capability development across the team
- Coordinate resources, drive effectiveness, and ensure team performance
- Set targets, evaluate performance, and build competence across the cluster
- Attract, develop, and grow sourcing talent
Business Partnering & Strategic Alignment
- Develop a deep understanding of local commercial priorities and strategy
- Act as an integrated business partner to local management teams
- Co‑develop global category sourcing strategies and ensure cluster‑level relevance
- Define and execute a locally tailored sourcing strategy aligned with global objectives
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across markets and functions
Performance & Financial Planning
- Lead local sourcing budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure sourcing savings are accurately linked to cluster EBITA delivery
- Maintain and update sourcing dashboards, ensuring high data accuracy
- Track implementation, report results, and ensure savings are realised in the P&L
- Contribute to global and local review meetings with clear, data‑driven insights
Executive Sourcing
- Plan and manage strategic sourcing activities throughout the year
- Run tenders, analyse RFP/RFQ data, manage supplier evaluation, and award business based on objective criteria
- Lead the full source‑to‑contract process within the cluster
- Drive contract implementation and ensure supplier compliance
- Facilitate supplier rating, support audits, and lead tail‑spend optimisation
- Ensure local SOPs are maintained and followed
Revenue Enablement
- Support strategic partnerships and joint business development initiatives
- Work closely with category management, finance, and sales on customer pricing, ensuring margin protection
- Support customer tenders with pricing models, commercial input, and CBT opportunities
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with deep sourcing and procurement expertise, capable of operating in a complex international matrix organisation. You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to translate commercial needs into actionable sourcing plans, while also bringing a hands‑on, results‑driven mindset.
With a natural ability to influence at all levels, you will connect easily across functions, markets, and leadership teams. You will bring structure, analytical strength, and a drive for continuous improvement - while actively developing your team and shaping a best‑in‑class sourcing organisation.
- Master’s degree (business, supply chain, procurement or similar)
- Proven relevant sourcing/procurement experience
- Experience in buy‑for‑resale / distribution industries (desirable)
- Track record in multinational, matrix‑driven organisations
- Expertise in sourcing principles, e‑procurement tools, governance and TCO methodologies
- Strong analytical skills and ability to derive actionable insights
- Proven project management experience
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to drive innovation and lead change initiatives

- Team‑oriented leadership approach with strong coaching capability
