Job Description
Sales Director
Posting Start Date:  23/10/2026

Mediq UK is a leading supplier of healthcare consumables, medical equipment, cleaning and hygiene products, and healthcare devices to hospitals, care homes, and healthcare providers across the UK. As part of the international Mediq Group, we operate in 13 countries and employ more than 2,500 people globally, all dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes and making care more accessible and affordable.

Mediq UK&I is entering an exciting period of growth and transformation. Following significant acquisitions and continued investment in our supply chain, product portfolio and commercial capabilities, we have built a strong platform for the future.

We are looking for an exceptional Sales Director to join our UK&I Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the next phase of our commercial growth.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead a business area generating approximately £230 million in annual revenue, with responsibility for around 42 colleagues and five direct reports.

You will develop and deliver our commercial strategy across the NHS, private healthcare, wholesale and community markets. Your focus will be on accelerating profitable growth, strengthening strategic customer partnerships and identifying new markets, categories and revenue opportunities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering profitable organic growth across our priority channels.
  • Building senior-level partnerships across the NHS and national procurement landscape.
  • Expanding relationships with private healthcare, wholesale and community customers.
  • Increasing the penetration of Mediq own-brand, Mediq Select and exclusive distribution products.
  • Winning new customers and increasing share of wallet within existing accounts.
  • Developing new categories, channels, geographies and service models.
  • Leading commercial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance.
  • Building, coaching and inspiring a high-performing sales organisation.
  • Working across Mediq to drive transformation, collaboration and commercial excellence.

About you

You will be a commercially accomplished and entrepreneurial leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to execution.

You will bring:

  • A strong track record in senior B2B sales or commercial leadership roles.
  • Demonstrable success in delivering profitable growth and business development.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing commercial teams.
  • Strong commercial, financial and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience navigating complex sales cycles, procurement environments and stakeholder groups.
  • The ability to translate strategy into clear priorities and measurable results.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication and influencing skills.
  • Resilience, adaptability and the confidence to lead through change.

Experience within MedTech, medical products, healthcare distribution, an OEM environment or the NHS would be highly desirable. We also welcome candidates from adjacent sectors who can demonstrate the strategic and commercial leadership required to take our business forward.

Benefits

Alongside a competitive executive package, you will receive:

  • Car allowance, supporting the travel requirements of this nationwide leadership role.
  • Private medical insurance, providing additional access to healthcare and support.
  • 28 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, giving you time to recharge and enjoy life outside work.
  • Enhanced pension scheme, helping you plan for the future with confidence.
  • Free on-site parking for a hassle-free commute.
  • Enhanced company sick pay for added peace of mind when you need it most.
  • Employee Assistance Programme, providing confidential support for you and your family.
  • 4x life assurance, providing additional financial security for you and your loved ones.
  • Access to Hapi, offering discounts and savings across hundreds of well-known retailers, leisure attractions and everyday brands.
  • Dedicated wellbeing strategy, supporting your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
  • Family fun days, bringing colleagues together and creating a strong sense of community.

Mediq is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive leadership team. If you meet many, but not all, of the criteria, we still encourage you to apply. We welcome conversations about flexibility, accessibility and reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.

This is an opportunity to play a defining role in Mediq’s future, build on a strong commercial foundation and help us become a leading healthcare partner. For the right individual, the position also offers significant development potential, including progression towards broader general management responsibilities.

If you are energised by growth, transformation and the opportunity to deliver meaningful outcomes for customers and patients, we would welcome your application.
