At Mediq, we believe data is more than information — it is the foundation for better healthcare. As our new Data Architect, you will define and govern the enterprise-wide Information & Data Architecture that enables scalable growth, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making across multiple countries.
You will play a key role in our global transformation journey, translating business strategy into robust data models, standards, and architectural principles. In this professional expert role, your architectural vision directly improves data quality, consistency, and reliability across the organization.
What are you going to do?
You will own and maintain the enterprise Information & Data Architecture across master, reference, and critical transactional domains. This includes defining and maintaining conceptual and logical data models, governing metadata standards, and ensuring a clear, business-approved glossary of definitions. You ensure that architecture patterns and standards are consistently applied across countries and functions and that documentation and decision logs are properly maintained.
You will translate business strategy and transformation priorities into clear target states, transition states, and data architecture roadmaps. For key initiatives such as ERP evolution, integration modernization, and analytics enablement, you define the required data architecture deliverables and identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, and reuse.
You will define, safeguard, and continuously improve data architecture principles, standards, and guardrails, including naming conventions, identifiers, hierarchies, golden record principles, and metadata requirements. You ensure that privacy, security, auditability, and compliance requirements are embedded by design and that business and compliance risks are minimized through clear architectural controls and documented decisions.
In addition, you perform and present impact analyses for strategic programs and data-related change requests. Acting as design authority for data, you provide recommendations aligned with the target architecture and ensure proper checkpoints throughout the change lifecycle, including data migration and integration considerations.
You build and manage a strong global stakeholder network, collaborating closely with Data Owners, Stewards, Enterprise Architecture, ERP teams, and IT leadership. Through workshops, coaching, and clear playbooks, you create awareness and drive adoption of data architecture standards across domains and countries.
What is your background?
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
You bring 3–8 years of relevant experience in Data Architecture or Information Architecture within a complex enterprise environment. You have strong expertise in conceptual and logical data modelling, domain modelling (master, reference, and critical transactional data), entity relationships, identifiers, and hierarchies.
You have experience developing and governing data standards such as naming conventions, metadata standards, and golden record principles. You are familiar with modelling repositories or architecture tools (for example ArchiMate-based tools) and metadata or data catalog solutions.
You understand ERP data structures and end-to-end business processes (such as O2C, P2P, I2M, and R2R). Experience with SAP is highly valued; experience with IFS is a plus.
You are fluent in English. Dutch, German, or Swedish is considered an advantage.
Most importantly, you are able to influence senior stakeholders, facilitate alignment across domains, and balance pragmatic delivery with long-term architectural vision.
What does Mediq offer?
At Mediq, you will join an international and purpose-driven organization operating in the healthcare sector. You will work in a global context with significant impact on strategic transformation initiatives.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, hybrid working based in the Netherlands, and flexibility to balance professional and personal life. You will have the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide standards, work with senior stakeholders, and further develop your expertise within a growing and ambitious data organization.
In this role, you will not only design architecture — you will shape the way data supports better healthcare across borders.
