As a Global Product Manager, you support the Category Director in shaping and executing the global category strategy across clusters and markets. In addition, you play a key role in the development, optimization and continuous improvement of Mediq Own Brands within the PPE category. You will be part of the global sourcing team and report directly to the Group Commercial Category Director.
Your role
In this role, you combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You take ownership of the PPE portfolio and product hierarchy, identify growth and margin opportunities across markets, and drive innovation and assortment optimization. Working closely with clusters, local markets and cross-functional teams, you help translate global strategy into practical, value-creating initiatives. The product development aspect of this role includes responsibility for regulatory-compliant development in line with Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and PPE certification requirements, with full support from the QA/RA department.
Key responsibilities
• Support the development and execution of the global PPE category strategy across clusters and markets
• Identify sales growth and gross margin improvement opportunities within the category and define steering actions
• Own and maintain the product hierarchy, including approval of new SKUs and leading portfolio development and rationalization
• Define the good-better-best assortment strategy and advise local markets on the optimal marketing mix
• Drive Mediq Own Brand product management and innovation initiatives
• Lead white spot analysis to identify portfolio gaps and growth opportunities
• Contribute to communication campaigns around key PPE “hero” products
• Ensure product development activities comply with MDR and PPE certification requirements, in close collaboration with QA/RA
What we are looking for
• A Master’s degree
• More than 5 years of relevant functional experience
• Deep knowledge of healthcare products, preferably within PPE (essential)
• Experience in the healthcare industry
• Experience working in a mid-size to large multinational organization within a matrix structure
• Strong expertise in optimizing category assortments with a focus on margin improvement
• Ability to develop and execute category strategies and drive business development
• Solid understanding of the end-to-end category management process and the ability to apply it pragmatically across multiple markets
• A strategic mindset with the ability to address complex challenges and develop innovative, value-creating solutions
