Finance Business Partner Sourcing & Category Management

Are you a senior finance professional who knows how to turn financial insight into commercial impact? Do you enjoy operating at executive level, challenging senior stakeholders and driving tangible improvements in margin and profitability? At Mediq, we are looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner Sourcing & Category Management who will play a key role in strengthening our financial and commercial performance across Europe.

Your impact at Mediq

Mediq has grown significantly over the past years, both organically and through acquisitions. As we continue to scale across Europe, we are increasingly leveraging our purchasing power, category expertise and commercial capabilities to accelerate profitable growth and strengthen our position as a leading European healthcare company.

Sourcing and Category Management are central to this ambition. They directly influence our purchasing performance, product portfolio, margins and overall competitiveness. We are therefore strengthening our financial leadership in this area with a senior Finance Business Partner who can operate at strategic and executive level.

As Finance Business Partner Sourcing & Category Management, you will be the key finance partner to our Chief Product Officer (CPO) and report directly to the CFO. You will also be a member of the Finance Leadership Team (FLT).

This is a senior role with significant visibility and influence. You will combine financial expertise with strong commercial judgement, helping the business make better decisions and translating financial performance into concrete actions and value creation.

What will you do?

You will take ownership of the financial agenda for Sourcing and Category Management and work closely with senior leaders across Mediq. Rather than simply reporting the numbers, you will challenge the business, identify opportunities and actively contribute to strategic decision-making.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the key Finance Business Partner to the CPO and senior stakeholders within Sourcing and Category Management.
  • Providing financial insight, challenge and guidance to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Driving performance management and proactively identifying risks, opportunities and actions to improve profitability and margins.
  • Owning and driving value creation within your areas of responsibility, with a strong focus on margin improvement and the financial management of our own-brand business.
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, target setting and long-range planning for Sourcing and Category Management.
  • Translating complex financial and commercial data into clear recommendations and actionable business insights.
  • Developing and challenging business cases for strategic investments, commercial initiatives and growth opportunities.
  • Supporting pricing, sourcing and category strategies from a financial and value-creation perspective.
  • Building strong relationships across functions and influencing senior stakeholders within a complex international organization.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Sourcing and Category Management.
  • Operating with a high degree of independence and taking a leading role in shaping the financial agenda.
  • Contributing actively as a member of the Finance Leadership Team and supporting broader Finance priorities across Mediq.

What do you bring?

You are an experienced Finance Business Partner who is comfortable operating close to executive management. You combine financial depth with commercial understanding and are able to challenge senior stakeholders constructively while building strong relationships.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline; an MBA is considered an advantage.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience within Finance Business Partnering, FP&A or a comparable senior finance position.
  • Significant experience partnering with senior leadership and preferably commercial, sourcing, procurement or category management functions.
  • A strong track record of driving profitable growth, margin improvement and measurable business impact.
  • Experience with strategy execution, commercial performance management, pricing and/or competitive analysis.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and strong experience with financial modelling, investment analysis and financial systems.
  • The ability to move comfortably between strategic discussions and detailed financial analysis.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the confidence to influence stakeholders across different functions, countries and levels of seniority.
  • A proactive and change-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and turn them into concrete actions.
  • Experience working within an international and matrix organization.
  • Fluency in English; Dutch is an advantage.

What does Mediq offer?

This is a senior and influential Finance position in which you will work directly with executive leadership and have the opportunity to make a visible contribution to Mediq's European growth and profitability.

We offer:

  • A gross monthly salary between €8,000 and €9,000, depending on your experience and background.
  • An annual bonus opportunity of 15%.
  • 8% holiday allowance.
  • A mobility budget.
  • An attractive pension scheme, with Mediq covering 75% of the pension contribution.
  • Approximately 26 days of annual leave.
  • A hybrid working model, combining working from home with collaboration at our office in De Meern.
  • A home-working allowance.
  • The opportunity to work in an international healthcare organization where Finance has a direct impact on strategic and commercial decision-making.
  • A highly visible position with direct exposure to the CFO, CPO and Finance Leadership Team.
  • Plenty of opportunity to further develop your career within an international organization that continues to grow and transform.
