Director Sourcing Excellence

Central to this evolution is building a world-class sourcing function that operates as a true business partner and delivers tangible value to the bottom line.
We are looking for an experienced and visionary Director Sourcing Excellence to help shape the future of sourcing at Mediq and play a pivotal role in our transformation.
Your Impact
As Director Sourcing Excellence, you will be a key member of the Procurement Leadership Team, reporting directly to the VP Sourcing CPO (Chief Product Officer). You will lead a dedicated team and be a driving force behind the development and implementation of cutting-edge sourcing capabilities across Mediq’s European footprint.
Your mission is to design and embed best-in-class processes, systems, and tools, while building organizational capabilities and driving performance across our Sourcing and Category Management organization. You will play a leading role in Mediq’s digital transformation journey, manage supplier relationships, elevate ESG standards, and strengthen sourcing/commercial competencies company-wide.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing Excellence & Capability Building
- Define critical sourcing competencies and create tailored development programs
- Design and deploy training programs to foster sourcing excellence
- Share and embed best practices across countries and business units
- Lead sourcing-related audits and assessments across the organization
- Lead Cross Border Trade (CBT) team and process improvements
Digital Transformation of Sourcing
- Shape and drive the digital roadmap for sourcing at Mediq
- Select and implement state-of-the-art eProcurement tools and technologies
- Lead the rollout of e-Sourcing and e-Contracting platforms, including new templates, workflows, and approval processes
- Build strong collaboration with external service providers in Europe and Asia
- Evaluate and plan future digital solutions (e.g., Guided Buying, Analytics, Supplier Management and pioneer use cases for AI)
Supplier Relationship Management
- Co-develop category sourcing strategies and ensure alignment with business goals
- Implement a supplier classification framework (strategic, niche, commodity, transactional)
- Define ownership models and relationship management processes for strategic suppliers
ESG & Compliance Leadership
- Represent Sourcing & Category Management in ESG committees and work closely with Executive Leadership
- Develop and lead Mediq’s Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Product Sustainability agenda
- Lead sustainability program to ensure products meets sustainable criteria, delivers GHG emission reduction and provide LCAs (Life Cycle Assessment);
- Manage external service providers to conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance
- Move beyond compliance to drive measurable sustainability outcomes
Commercial Tender Excellence
- Secure an E2E approach where sourcing is engaging in early stages of customer tenders with the commercial teams to develop a winning proposition
- Manage Commercial Tenders pipeline updates with Sales team, for full visibility and ExCo progress review;
- Develop templates and tools across sales tender teams (tracker, post-mortem documents, digital opps.) and identify local best practices to deploy globally
- Share future requirement and trends with Sourcing team and define action plan (ESG, CBT, etc), including tender post-mortem insights;
What You Bring
Expertise & Skills
- Extensive experience in procurement/sourcing within an international, cross-functional environment
- Proven track record in project and change management
- Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, tools, and digital procurement platforms
- Ability to translate strategy into action, drive adoption, and ensure execution
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills
- Fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools

Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- 8+ years of relevant experience in procurement or sourcing roles
- Experience in a multinational, matrix-driven environment
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are a plus
