As Local ESG Specialist, you will drive the local implementation of Mediq’s ESG strategy, ensuring commercial, legal, and operational initiatives align with global objectives. Acting as Mediq’s local ESG ambassador, you will work closely with the Group ESG Office, commercial teams, and local representatives to turn our sustainability ambitions into reality.

Beyond compliance and internal alignment, you will ensure that ESG becomes a differentiating element of Mediq’s value proposition. By integrating sustainability into our customer offerings, tenders, and partnerships, you will help transform ESG into a driver of commercial success, customer trust, and long-term growth.

What You’ll Do
In this role, you will help position Mediq as a credible sustainability leader in the local market—building external recognition and internal pride. You will implement local ESG initiatives that contribute to group-level goals, strengthen customer relationships through high-quality input in tenders and dialogues, and ensure compliance with ESG legislation. At the same time, you will foster employee engagement through campaigns, networks, and feedback loops, embedding sustainability in Mediq’s culture.

Key Responsibilities
• Drive local ESG implementation projects in line with Mediq’s global roadmap.
• Align local plans with group objectives, embedding ESG in goals, metrics, and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with local ESG legislation in collaboration with Legal, HR, and Supply Chain.
• Lead the local ESG representatives network and stimulate internal awareness.
• Support tender management by preparing sustainability content and educating sales & marketing.
• Represent Mediq in external ESG dialogues, reinforcing our leadership position.
• Translate ESG ambitions into customer value propositions, making sustainability a tangible lever for commercial growth.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Public Policy, or related field.
• Dutch speaking and writing on a professional level.
• 3–5+ years’ experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate responsibility, or compliance (healthcare/regulated sectors are a plus).
• Proven track record implementing ESG programs across operations, supply chain, or commercial functions.
• Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and reporting standards (e.g. GRI, SASB, TCFD, CSRD).
• Experience in project management, ESG compliance, and risk assessment.
• Analytical mindset with ability to monitor ESG KPIs and metrics.
• Skilled in preparing sustainability content for tenders, reporting, and communication.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive self-starter with strong organizational abilities.
• Adaptable, collaborative, and passionate about sustainability.
