Job Description
Group FP&A Controller
Posting Start Date:  8/26/26

FP&A Controller – Sourcing, Working Capital & Liquidity

Are you a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys looking beyond the numbers? Do you know how to turn complex financial data into clear insights and concrete actions? And would you like to take ownership of highly visible topics such as sourcing performance, working capital, cash flow and liquidity within an international healthcare organisation?

At Mediq, we are looking for an FP&A Controller – Sourcing, Working Capital & Liquidity. In this Group Finance role, you combine financial planning and control with commercially focused performance analysis and business partnering. You work closely with the Head of Group FP&A and the Finance Business Partner for Category Management and Sourcing.

You identify risks and opportunities early, challenge assumptions and help stakeholders translate financial insights into practical actions. You are comfortable working in an international environment where data and processes are not always perfect and bring the structure, ownership and hands-on mentality needed to move topics forward.

Your impact at Mediq

This role covers two important areas within Group FP&A: Sourcing FP&A and Group Working Capital, Cash & Liquidity.

Within Sourcing, you help the organisation understand how sourcing initiatives, supplier performance and savings translate into financial performance and value creation. At Group level, you provide insight into working capital and cash development across countries and help strengthen our forecasting and liquidity management.

This combination gives you broad exposure across Mediq and the opportunity to work with Finance, Sourcing, commercial and operational stakeholders across the organisation.

What will you do?

Within Sourcing FP&A, you will:

  • Monitor sourcing performance, savings delivery and key business KPIs and identify risks and opportunities at an early stage.
  • Translate financial analysis into actionable recommendations that support value creation and performance improvement.
  • Challenge assumptions and investigate deviations, working with Sourcing and commercial stakeholders to define and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis for the Sourcing organisation.
  • Support supplier negotiations, sourcing initiatives and business cases with robust financial analysis.
  • Take ownership of Sourcing FP&A reporting and analytics and continuously improve processes and governance to create greater transparency, consistency and decision-useful insights.

Within Group Working Capital, Cash & Liquidity, you will:

  • Own and continuously improve Group working capital reporting and analysis across accounts receivable, accounts payable and inventory.
  • Prepare and consolidate short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts across countries.
  • Analyse key cash movements, risks and forecast deviations.
  • Drive monthly liquidity reviews and work with local Finance teams to identify and follow up on opportunities to improve cash management and working capital performance.
  • Prepare quarterly lender reporting covering Group financial performance, liquidity and covenant compliance.

Your key deliverables include sourcing dashboards and reporting tools, monthly spend analyses, forecasts and budgets, working capital and cash flow commentary and liquidity analyses. You will also ensure clear tracking of identified risks, opportunities and agreed actions across both Sourcing and working capital.

What do you bring?

You are a finance professional with a strong analytical foundation and a commercial mindset. You are naturally curious about what drives business performance and are not satisfied with simply reporting what happened. You want to understand why it happened, what it means for the business and what should happen next.

You are confident challenging assumptions and working with stakeholders to turn analysis into action. At the same time, you are pragmatic and comfortable creating structure when data, information or processes are still evolving.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  • At least five years of relevant experience within FP&A, business controlling or commercial finance, ideally in an international or distribution environment.
  • A strong understanding of P&L drivers, working capital and cash flow mechanics.
  • Experience working within a matrix organisation, ideally with Sourcing, Procurement or Supply Chain teams.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience with BI, ERP and reporting systems is an advantage.
  • Experience working across multiple countries or business units and consolidating financial information is preferred.
  • A professional qualification such as CMA or ACCA is an advantage.

What makes you successful?

You combine analytical depth with the ability to get things done. You look beyond reported numbers to understand the underlying performance drivers and translate your findings into clear recommendations.

You identify trends, risks and opportunities early and have the confidence to challenge stakeholders constructively. You build credibility across Finance, Sourcing, commercial and operational teams and communicate complex financial topics in a clear and practical way.

Above all, you are a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership. You are resilient, pragmatic and comfortable operating in a dynamic and ambitious international environment.

What does Mediq offer?

This is a highly visible Group Finance position in which you can take ownership of topics that have a direct impact on financial and business performance.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of key topics across Sourcing, working capital, cash flow and liquidity.
  • Work closely with senior Finance, Sourcing and business stakeholders across an international organisation.
  • Influence performance by turning financial information into concrete business actions and following through on delivery.
  • Help further strengthen FP&A reporting, forecasting, analytics and governance.
  • Work in a dynamic and ambitious environment where initiative, ownership and practical problem-solving are valued.
