Job Description
Head of Supply Chain Data & Analytics
Posting Start Date:  10/1/26

Are you a senior Data & Analytics leader who knows how to turn operational data into measurable business performance? Have you built data capabilities from the ground up and moved organizations from retrospective reporting towards truly data-driven performance management?

At Mediq, we are looking for a Head of Supply Chain Data & Analytics to shape and deliver our Operations Data & Analytics strategy across Europe.

You will build the Group Supply Chain Data & Analytics function, create a trusted operational data foundation and use analytics and AI to improve cost, productivity, service and working capital.

You report directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, a member of the Executive Board, and are a member of the Operations Leadership Team. You have a dotted reporting line to the Head of IT & MDM for platform and architecture alignment.

Your impact at Mediq

Mediq Operations spans approximately 900 people across 14 countries. Our operational platform is consolidating from 25 warehouses to 4 hubs and from 20 ERP environments to 3. We manage approximately €140 million in inventory and around €100 million in Group Supply Chain OPEX.

Our ambition is to make Operations measurable, comparable and continuously improvable across every market and site.

As Head of Supply Chain Data & Analytics, you build the capability that makes this possible. You create common definitions, trusted data and clear ownership and establish a performance-management approach that allows us to understand not only what happened, but why – and what we need to change.

Your role covers both ends of the discipline: operational data ownership and governance on the way in, and state-of-the-art analytics and AI on the way out.

What will you do?

You will shape the strategy and build the function while simultaneously using data to improve operational performance.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Building the Group Supply Chain Data & Analytics function from the ground up, including its operating model, team, capabilities, tooling and ways of working.
  • Translating the Operations Data & Analytics strategy into a roadmap that first establishes strong data foundations and then scales advanced analytics and applied AI.
  • Recruiting, developing and leading a specialist team across data engineering, BI, data science and business analysis.
  • Taking ownership of operational data from source systems into the Group data platform and establishing clear data ownership and stewardship.
  • Creating one trusted definition for key operational metrics across our European markets.
  • Improving data quality at source and reducing manual and fragmented reporting.
  • Owning the Group Operations KPI framework and creating transparency across cost, productivity, service and working capital.
  • Establishing driver-based performance management that helps markets identify performance gaps, understand root causes and turn them into measurable improvement actions.
  • Benchmarking performance across markets and sites and making opportunities to close the gap to best-in-class visible.
  • Translating analytical insights into concrete business requirements and improvement cases for the Operations transformation roadmap, S&OP, IT and process design.
  • Providing the Chief Supply Chain Officer, Operations Leadership Team and Executive Board with the analytical basis for strategic capital, footprint and network decisions.
  • Owning the Operations Analytics & AI roadmap and prioritizing use cases based on business value, data readiness, scalability and adoption potential.

From insight to performance improvement

This role is not about producing more dashboards.

You connect customer outcomes, operational processes, productivity, cost and working capital so that performance can be managed through the drivers that determine the result.

When analysis identifies excess inventory, service failures or cost variances, you establish the root cause and translate the insight into a concrete change. You ensure those requirements find their way into transformation initiatives, S&OP, technology and process design.

Performance reviews should result in decisions, named actions and measurable follow-through – not another explanation of historical performance.

What do you bring?

You combine deep Data & Analytics expertise with a strong understanding of Operations and business performance. You are credible with technical specialists and senior business leaders in the same conversation.

We are looking for:

  • A Master's degree in a quantitative, Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Business or related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience moving a non-data-native organization towards a truly data-driven operating model.
  • Strong expertise across data ownership, stewardship and governance as well as BI, advanced analytics and data science.
  • Current knowledge of modern data architecture, advanced analytics and applied AI.
  • Experience translating AI opportunities into implemented operational use cases with measurable business value.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain Operations and its economics.
  • Experience building a new Data & Analytics function, including operating model, recruitment and team development.
  • Experience establishing data-driven performance management and continuous-improvement routines.
  • Experience leading technical teams in an international, multi-country environment.
  • The stakeholder strength to challenge senior operational leaders on their performance while maintaining their trust and cooperation.
  • Experience within medtech, pharma or another regulated distribution environment is an advantage.
  • English at C1 professional level; Dutch or German is helpful but not required.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across our European markets and distribution sites.

What makes you successful?

Success is not measured by how many dashboards, models or AI solutions your team creates. It is measured by the business value they unlock.

You understand the drivers behind operational results, trace variances back to their root causes and translate insights into measurable improvements in OPEX, working capital, productivity and customer service.

You also understand that reliable data requires trust. You bring markets, Operations, IT, Finance and S&OP together around common definitions and create a performance culture in which the numbers are trusted and used to drive action.

Ultimately, you build a capability that scales beyond the central team: automated where possible, well documented and embedded throughout the organization.

What does Mediq offer?

This is a highly visible Group leadership role with the opportunity to build a strategically important capability from the ground up.

You can expect:

  • A senior Group position reporting directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, a member of the Executive Board.
  • Membership of the Operations Leadership Team.
  • A dotted reporting line to the Head of IT & MDM for platform and architecture alignment.
  • The opportunity to shape and build the Supply Chain Data & Analytics function and specialist team.
  • Significant freedom to develop the Operations Data, Analytics & AI roadmap.
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making across Mediq.
  • A role where Data & Analytics is directly connected to measurable improvements in cost, productivity, working capital and customer service.
  • An international environment with strong opportunities for further professional and leadership development.
