Are you an experienced transformation leader who knows how to turn an ambitious operations strategy into measurable business results? Can you lead a complex transformation portfolio across countries, functions and sites, while holding senior leaders accountable without relying on formal line authority? And do you have the authority and experience to challenge Heads and Directors on priorities, delivery and value creation?
At Mediq, we are looking for an Operations Program Manager to play a leading role in the transformation of our European Operations organization.
This is not a traditional project or PMO role. You will detail the Operations strategy into an executable transformation plan, own the transformation portfolio across the full Operations perimeter and drive its implementation at Group, market and site level. You will lead through influence and authority, directing senior leaders and cross-functional teams who do not report directly to you. This reflects the original JD's explicit mandate to hold senior leaders and teams accountable without line authority.
You report directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and are a member of the Operations Leadership Team.
Your impact at Mediq
Mediq is transforming the way we run Operations across Europe. Our Operations organization spans approximately 900 people across 14 countries and covers supply chain and warehouse operations, transport, S&OP, Operations IT, master data, quality and regulatory assurance, real estate and facilities, and privacy.
The scale of the transformation is significant. Our operational platform is consolidating from 25 warehouses to 4 hubs and from 20 ERP environments to 3, while approximately €140 million of inventory is under steer.
As Operations Program Manager, you are the implementation backbone of this transformation. You turn strategic intent into an executable roadmap, determine how priorities come together across the entire Operations organization and ensure that commitments translate into adopted practices and measurable results.
You don't simply track transformation: you own its execution.
What will you do?
You will own the end-to-end Operations transformation portfolio across our European organization. You translate strategy into execution, determine sequencing and dependencies, challenge priorities and ensure that senior leaders deliver against agreed commitments.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Detailing the Mediq Operations strategy into a concrete, sequenced transformation plan with clear outcomes, owners, milestones and accountabilities.
- Owning the complete portfolio of Group Operations priorities across 14 countries, including scope, sequencing, dependencies, resources and critical paths.
- Translating Group priorities into executable roadmaps at Group, market and site level.
- Directing and holding senior leaders and cross-functional teams accountable for delivery, even where you have no formal line authority.
- Making recommendations on trade-offs and re-sequencing priorities when capacity, dependencies or changing circumstances require intervention.
- Personally leading Group-critical transformation programs, particularly those that cross markets and functions or do not have a natural single owner.
- Building and leading cross-market and cross-functional teams and driving them from strategic intent through execution to adoption.
- Ensuring every major transformation initiative has a quantified baseline, financial ownership and measurable benefits agreed with Finance.
- Driving measurable value creation in OPEX, working capital and customer service rather than simply delivering activities or milestones.
- Governing the adoption of Group standards across markets and sites and ensuring local exceptions are transparent, justified and actively managed.
- Establishing rigorous decision-making and execution discipline across Operations, with clear ownership, deadlines and follow-through.
- Contributing as a member of the Operations Leadership Team and helping shape decisions across the full Operations agenda.
What do you bring?
You are a senior transformation leader who has personally led complex operational transformations across multiple countries or business units.
You are equally comfortable discussing strategy with executive leadership and challenging an operational leader on the numbers behind their performance. You have the credibility to influence Heads and Directors without formal authority and the resilience to keep complex transformations moving when priorities compete.
We are looking for someone who brings:
- A Master's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
- A strong track record of personally leading multi-country business transformations from strategy definition through execution and sustainable adoption.
- Demonstrable experience delivering quantified financial and operational value, with clear evidence of the impact created.
- Experience leading change within an operating organization, rather than managing transformation from the sidelines.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain and operations, including warehousing, transport, planning, master data and Operations IT.
- Strong program and portfolio management capabilities, including baselining, benefit tracking, dependency management and risk management.
- The seniority and credibility to challenge and hold senior leaders accountable without relying on hierarchical authority.
- The ability to move between strategic priorities and the operational detail required to understand root causes and unlock delivery.
- A self-directed and pragmatic approach: you take a mandate and turn it into action.
- Experience within medtech, pharma or another regulated distribution environment is an advantage.
- English at C1 professional level; Dutch or German is an advantage but not required.
- Willingness to travel regularly across our European markets and distribution sites.
What makes you successful?
Success in this role is measured by what changes in the business.
You treat the transformation roadmap as a value plan, not an activity plan. You understand the drivers behind operational performance and ensure that improvements become visible in OPEX, working capital and customer service.
You earn the trust required to lead senior stakeholders who do not report to you, challenge decisions when necessary and fully commit once direction has been set. You surface risks and slippage early, resolve the underlying causes and create standards and ways of working that continue to deliver after individual transformation programs have ended.
What does Mediq offer?
At Mediq, you will step into a highly visible Group transformation role with significant influence on how Operations develops across Europe.
You can expect:
- A senior Group position reporting directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer.
- Membership of the Operations Leadership Team.
- Ownership of a major transformation portfolio spanning the full Mediq Operations organization.
- Significant autonomy and the mandate to turn strategic priorities into measurable business results.
- Direct interaction with senior Operations leaders across our European markets.
- The opportunity to influence operational cost, working capital, customer service and the future operating model of Mediq.
- An international environment with strong opportunities for further professional and leadership development.
