Strategic Sourcing Lead

 

Mediq is strengthening its strategic sourcing capability in the Nordics & Baltics and is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Lead to take end-to-end responsibility for selected sourcing categories.

This role is an individual contributor position with clear category ownership, working closely with the regional and Group Sourcing teams, business stakeholders, and strategic suppliers. You will contribute actively to the team’s collective objectives while being accountable for driving value, competitiveness, and supplier performance within your defined categories.

 

About the Role

 

As Strategic Sourcing Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for your assigned categories in the Nordics & Baltics. You will translate Group category direction into regional execution and ensure sourcing decisions are market-informed, data-driven, and aligned with Mediq’s commercial and sustainability ambitions.

You will work in close collaboration with other category leads and sourcing colleagues, contributing to shared ways of working, best practices, and continuous improvement across the team.

 

Key Responsibilities - What are you going to do?

 

  • Own and drive sourcing strategy and execution for the assigned categories across the Nordics & Baltics
  • Ensure continuous competitiveness through structured supplier management and performance follow-up
  • Lead supplier negotiations and tenders end-to-end, including preparation, analysis, execution, and recommendation
  • Translate category strategies into concrete cost, value, and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with business units to clarify specifications, align requirements, and support sound sourcing decisions
  • Analyze RFP/RFQ data using aligned criteria and scoring models to enable transparent and fact-based decisions
  • Develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships focused on reliability, compliance, sustainability, and total cost of ownership
  • Monitor market and supplier developments within your categories and proactively identify opportunities and risks
  • Contribute to the sourcing team’s overall performance by sharing insights, best practices, and market intelligence

 

Qualifications and Skills - What is your background?

 

  • Several years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably within healthcare, life sciences industry
  • Proven experience managing categories and leading complex supplier negotiations
  • Strong commercial understanding and ability to assess P&L impact and total cost of ownership
  • A structured, analytical, and data-driven working style
  • Experience working in matrix organizations and cross-country setups
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and suppliers without formal authority
  • A collaborative mindset and strong team orientation, aligned with Nordic working culture
  • Clear, professional communication skills in English (local language skills are an advantage)
